The Legacy Continues A. The Massachusetts Rifle Association was organized in 1871 and at that time Mass Rifle was part of what was called then Spy Pond in Arlington. In 1875 members bought the land and formed Walnut Hill Range. Club houses, indoor and outdoor shooting was constructed. B. Ranges were of continuous activity including 600 yards. Ranges today are named after Charlie McLaughlin, and Fred Fazio to name a few. C.
